Arrival at the Hotel Auriga
in Lech am Arlberg
Lech am Arlberg is easily accessible during the winter, even if the snow-covered mountains might suggest otherwise. However, your vehicle must be equipped with winter tires; please also carry snow chains just in case. Please note that winter tires are required in Austria from November 1 through April 15 of the following year; you must also purchase a vignette to use the highways and expressways. Traveling by Car
From the North – Munich
Coming from Munich, there are three routes to choose from. The fastest route takes you via the A96 (Memmingen–Lindau on Lake Constance) and the S16 to Lech. A second option goes via the A95 (Garmisch-Partenkirchen), the B189, and the A12 (St. Anton am Arlberg). The third route—by far the longest—is via the A93 (Rosenheim–Kiefersfelden) and the A12 (Inntal Autobahn). Please check traffic reports in advance for potential delays, traffic jams, and roadwork.
From the South and East
Take the appropriate highway to the Innsbruck interchange. From there, follow the A12 (Inntal Highway) and the A16 to Klösterl, then take the S198 to Lech.
Traveling by Car
From the West – Zurich
From Zurich, it’s best to take the A1 (Winterthur-St. Gallen) toward Hohenems. From there, take the A14 to Bludenz and continue on the S16 toward Lech. An alternative route takes you via the A3 (Vaduz) to Feldkirch; from there, continue on the A14 as described in Route 1.
Directions to the Hotel Auriga in Lech
Coming from Zürs, take the S198 to the entrance to Lech. Once in town, turn left onto Omesberg Street (before Hotel-Pension Roggal). Turn right at the very next opportunity, and then right again. After a few meters, you’ll see the Hotel Auriga on your right.
Traveling to Lech by Bus and Train
Select Langen am Arlberg as your destination station. The bus station is located directly in front of the train station. Take public bus No. 91 to reach your vacation destination, Lech, in just 30 minutes. On the following pages, you can plan your trip in detail and purchase the corresponding train tickets online.
Traveling to Lech by Plane
The nearest international airport is in Innsbruck (100 km away). From there, the best way to reach Lech is by rental car or taxi. The drive takes about an hour and a half. The offices of several car rental companies are located on the upper level of the airport building and on the ground floor of the parking garage.
